Motherhood

My cousin Joanna had her baby Mason in April of last year and what a joy it has been for all of us. He is such a beautiful and happy baby ! I love taking pictures of him and he is a great inspiration for scrapbooking. Joanna LOVES blue and brown combination - her bedroom is blue (more like teal) and brown, Mason's room is blue and brown with a puppy theme and she loves wearing blue and brown too. So...when I came across Anna Griffin "Flora" collection and embossed foil alphabet from "Carolina" collection I just had to have it and use it for LO of her and Mason.
Here is final result...I love it. TFL :)

Shabby Blogs Great find!

Ok, I just have to share this cause it's too cool. Shabby Blogs at shabbyblogsblog.blogspot.com has free download to Shape Collage program, which will randomly organize your photos into shapes and even text (super cool!) Although the free version has the watermark, the pro version available for either $25 or $45, has no watermark and can be used in the Photoshop. The possibilities are endless! Here is what I came up with in like 5 minutes. Super cool!
Hawaii Vacation 2010 and Maggie's Scrapbook Album

Satin Frame Tutorial

For my cousin's album (see previous posts) I decided to make frame for the photo of her and her fiance on the cover of the album. For this project I used cardboard, 1" sating ribbon (mango and magenta colors), adhesive tape and glue gun. First, I cut the cardboard frame that would fit 4x6 picture frame according to the dimensions below. This allowed me to have extra ribbon on the both side on the frame to wrap it around the frame and hide the cardboard. I also made opening of the frame 1/2 inch smaller on both sides to make sure picture fits nicely and album's background does not show in the opening. I then started to cut strips of ribbon and attaching it to the frame (see below)

As you can see the mango ribbon overlaps in the corners and it's perfectly okay because the magenta ribbon will cover up the imperfections. I then cut 10 smaller strips of magenta ribbon that would wrap around the frame (you can do as many as you want) and attach it to the back of the frame. Once complete, I used adhesive to attach photo to the frame and glue gun to attach frame to the album. Caution here: if you place hot glue on the photo, the heat may damage the photograph, so try to stay away from it. You can also make a plastic sleeve for the photo about 1/2 inch bigger in the length than the frame so the photo can easily accessible for replacement. Place the photo in sleeve before adhering it to the album.

Maggie's Album Part III

Maggie's Album cont.

Here are some additional photos of the Bridal shower and Bachelorette party pages from the album for my cousin Maggie. Notice the custom made stamp for the invitations with Magdalena's name - I thought that it was a nice touch and she love it! The bridal shower theme was black, white and magenta, thus all the pages follow this color scheme just to make scrapping easier (sorry but I'm matchy-matchy like that)
